It's on and poppin'! RSJ 2011 registration is now open and ready for
business. Compared to other literary events of this magnitude, the
RSJ is still one of the lowest priced events with lots of BANG for
the BUCK.
Hosts A.C. Arthur and the Sweet Soul Sisters are going out of their
way to help ensure you have a good time. They've made arrangements
with the hotel to extend the discounted rate, soooo, come in early
and enjoy Baltimore. I know I plan on arriving the Monday before the
conference. Who wants to hang out?
The main way people hear about the Slam Jam is by word of mouth.
Please help spread the word so our family can continue growing
bigger and better.

Zuri Day wants to extend a special offer to the
book clubs represented in Romance Slam Jam. Her fourth novel, What
Love Tastes Like, comes out in September. But she’d like to give you
an early sneak peak.
When
interviewed recently, Zuri seemed especially excited about this
work. “I love to cook,” she explained, regarding the theme of this
novel. “And I love to travel. So it was a delight mixing two of my
favorite things to do into a sizzling story line. This book is about
a recent culinary grad, Tiffany Matthews, who meets business mogul
Nick Rollins during a trans-Atlantic flight to Rome, where she’s
headed to complete a one-month internship under a renowned
Italian chef. During this brief encounter, both Tiffany and Nick’s
appetites are whetted. After returning to Los Angeles, the flicker
becomes a flame. When people finish this novel,” Zuri concludes,
“they’ll be hungry…in more ways than one!” ::wink::
If your book club has five or more
members, and you’d like an advance reader copy of this juicy read,
please send the president or organizer name and mailing address to
zuriday@yahoo.com. She only
has 10 ARCs available so don’t wait! Send her your information
today.
I've received additional pictures to add to our RSJ 2010 Photo
Album. I'll try to get them added by the August Newsletter. Thanks a
bunch everyone and I can always use MORE pictures SMILE.
Send the photos you want
added to our RSJ 2010 album to me at

If you are planning on attending the RSJ 2011 conference, go ahead
and reserve your hotel room. The hotel has agreed to extend our
block until there is no available room.
We've come down to crunch time on the Reader Survey. If you haven't
taken it, please do. If you haven't told everyone you know who reads
Black Romance/Women's fiction, please do.
Readers of African-American romance don't read romantic suspense,
paranormal romances or romance with science fiction elements.
Readers of African American romance don't read many books. Readers
of African American romance don't buy books.
Do you disagree with any or all of these statements? If so, please
help us spread the truth by taking this short survey:
Romance Slam Jam Reader Survey
A few people had a question on one of the survey questions. It ask
how many books you purchase a year. That is total books, not just
Romance.
Please spread the word about the survey. It takes all of us to speak
out in order to be heard.
That's it for now. If you have questions, shoot
me an email.
Be sure to visit the Romance Slam Jam website
for conference information.
As always, much joy, peace, and love
