Talkin' eBooks with Tina Burns |

eBooks by Tina Burns Twenty years ago, we couldn’t imagine the impact the cell phone would have on our lives, yet today our cell phones have become our livelihood, the connection to our families and friends, our “go everywhere with the internet” device, and a new way to read books. What? You can read books on your cell phone? That’s right! Like cell phones twenty years ago, books today are on the verge of change. Bye, bye bulky paper books … hello eco-friendly eBooks. What does that mean for the voracious reader? eBooks are stored on your computer, PDAs, Flash Drives, dedicated eBook readers and many more devices, giving the reader a virtual bookshelf. When my husband found out about eBooks he almost threw a party he was so excited that our bookshelf would stop overflowing. (He was wrong, I still buy paper books.) Are you one of those readers who reads two, maybe three books at a time? If so, you’ve probably got one book on your desk, another in the bathroom by the tub, and another by your bed right? With eBooks, it’s possible to carry around all three books with you at once. How big of a book bag would you need to carry around 100 paperback books? With an eBook reader or PDA, those 100 books fit in your purse. One of my favorite things about eBooks is that they’re discreet. No need to hide the cover of that romance book you’re reading, anymore. With eBooks, all others see is you looking at your PDA, not a steamy romance book. eBooks have also brought more variety for readers. Where else can you find a book that mixes romance, paranormal and suspense all in one? That’s right, in an eBook. In addition to a wider variety of genres, eBooks have also opened up doors for many authors who find it difficult to be published via traditional publishing. One such avenue for publishing is in the Erotic Romance ePublishing industry. In the Erotic Romance ePublishing industry we’ve seen a rise in the number of multi-cultural authors and subject matter, widening the availability of multi-cultural and inter-racial books. Blogs, such as Karen Knows Best, have been instrumental in brining Black authored eBooks to the attention of her readership and the internet in general. Even Oprah has jumped on the eBook bandwagon. Her support of the written word has always been strong, but with her endorsement of the Kindle, Amazon’s dedicated eBook reader, she’s brought world wide media attention to this new and exciting technology. Below is a list of authors that publish mutli-cultural and/or inter-racial Erotic Romance eBooks. It is by no means comprehensive, but certainly a starting point for those of you who want to jump on the eBook bandwagon too.
